Mother nature has done it again! Striking because of its contrasting light and dark stripes, Ambrosia Maple is not actually a species of maple, but the name given to any soft maple infested by the ambrosia beetle. Notice the small holes where the beetle borrowed into the trunk of the tree. The bacteria introduced this way is what causes the flares of colour to develop.

We recommend regular re-oiling and care to ensure longevity, and, because of the unique nature of the ambrosia, we do not recommend using these boards when cutting raw meat.
